If you keep up with me on Instagram, then you know that I often travel for work. Some people might say that traveling for work is awesome but truth be told — it can wear me out! Nevertheless, I try to make make the best time out of all of my work trips and I’ll usually carve out time to explore a new restaurant or museum.
Sometimes it’s hard to imagine taking a runway-inspired look to the office, but Lizna’s collection has you covered. All her looks are can be easily modified to wear to the office. Some are ready to get to work right off the runway!
If you’re reading this then you know that I am NOT one to blend in with a crowd! I always like to make a big splash wherever I go. And it’s no exception when I go to the gym either. So when my gal pal Patty from Style By Patty told me about these new bright & bold leggings from Personal & Co Activewear, I was ecstatic to partner up with them!
Want a reason to workout? Well, I may have JUST the thing. Nothing puts a little extra pep in your step than looking good, right? Well, thanks to Derek Lam, we can now look good in and out of the gym.
Derek Lam 10 Crosby released its first limited edition collection with Athleta’s first limited edition. Each piece is uniquely designed with geometrical shapes and bold colors. The fabric is also super soft and lightweight which is perfect for any activity.
Check out some of my favorite pieces:
The collection is available online and in some select stores. Houstonians are lucky because the Athleta in Rice Village was chosen to carry the collection!
The store held a mini-fashion show to display the new collection. Models for the show ranged from yoga instructors to freelance magazine writers and bloggers! The showcase wasn’t all about fashion though, it was also a charity event benefiting Girls on the Run.
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that inspires middle school girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions.
Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible and teaching girls that they can.

I love it when a group of strangers can come together and make something work. That is exactly what happened when I decided to have a photoshoot at my house. I hit up Jared from JA Fusion, on facebook and told him I wanted to take some pictures. Within a matter of minutes, we had a date set.
About a day or so later, he asked if I had anyone to do my hair and make-up and truth be told, I didn’t! He told me not to worry and in the blink of an eye he rounded up Nikki from Nikki Lea Beautyy and Albany (a 2nd photographer) from Iriswings.
I have to tell you, that I was a bit nervous getting in front of a camera. I know, those that know me might be saying NO WAY! But it is true, posing is hard work and to be honest I didn’t think I could pull it off.
Regardless of what I thought, they all made me feel extremely comfortable. Nikki did a phenomenal job on my make-up. I have never looked that good before. Thanks again Nikki.
Al kept making me laugh, he broke the ice and made me feel really comfortable. He also helped me pick out some outfits. He’s got a creative eye for what looks good. Thanks Al.
And Jared, he truly is a master at his craft. He has a way of putting me at ease in front of the camera and we work really well together. Thanks Jared! I hope all of you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. I can’t wait for our next collab.
I was invited to speak about Fall Fashion trends for residents and local fashionistas at Uptown at Post Oak Luxury Apartments. I was excited to share all of my MUST HAVE looks for the cooler season.
I chose to showcase special one of a kind pieces from Azuz Boutique. If you have not been there, you are truly missing out. The boutique is in the heart of Rice Village. When I first reached out to Jacki (one of the owners) to see if she would be interested in participating in the panel, she was thrilled! We really hit it off great and she was more than happy to help me pick out some killer looks.
Jacki and Penny opened their store about a year ago and they pride themselves in having a large selection of unique and chic pieces from designers such as Tibi, AS by DF, Bec & Bridge, and much more.
For the panel, I decide to invite my good gal pals and fellow fashion experts Lisa from A Chic Effect and Jillian from Jillian’s Closet. I felt that both of these ladies brought a different perspective on fall trends. Our styles are so different, so it made for a great variation for our audience.
Overall, the event was great, we had food, drinks and well-dressed people to share it all with. Thanks so much for the great time and thanks to the ladies of Azuz for our looks of the night.
Also, a huge thanks to my photographer of the night, Jared from JAFusion
Recently I decided to raise my blogging stakes and have a photoshoot! This shoot was a fun way for me to showcase my style & fashion. It’s also a way for you to get to know me better. Now, I haven’t received all my photos just yet but I figured why not release some teaser shots! I want to say thanks to Jared Li from JA Fusion Photography, Albany from Iriswings and Nikki from Nikki Lea Beautyy for making this such a creative and fun process!
Hey there fellow Houstonians,
It’s that time for year again where fashionistas come out to play. Tonight will be the kick-off party for #FH5 at the fabulous JW Marriott Downtown! The party will start at 7pm and you can bet there will be plenty of drinks, food, dancing, and hot fashion. Come find me tonight and we’ll take a #selfie together. No better way of getting to know each other than by taking a #sellfie. See you tonight!

I’ll soon be leaving the Houston humidity for the tropical paradise that is Puerto Rico. It’s a vacation that is MUCH needed. This will be my second time visiting Puerto Rico and it’s one of my favorite places to visit. PR has great food, shops, people, weather, and most importantly, it doesn’t cost that much to vacation there!
The main purpose of my trip is to celebrate my dear friend’s wedding. But that doesn’t mean I can’t go exploring the town while I’m there, right?
In order to have time for everything I want to do, I made an itinerary of “musts,” and boy do I plan to do them all!
- Get lost in Old San Juan — Explore the great local shops and restaurants.
- Sample Some Local Food — Must try the lechon, mofongo, exotic tropical fruit, & rum drinks.
- Hike a Tropical Rain Forest — This usually means El Yunque National Forest, but there are others here, too.
- Best Beaches: You must go to la Isla Verde. You can also visit Balneario Monserrate in Luquillo, or Playa Puerto Nuevo.
- Go Deep Into the Caves: Cueva Ventana is one of my favorite caves. Rio Camuy Caves Park is also good.
- Take an Adventure: Ziplines, ATVs, Rappelling, Hang Gliding, Horseback Riding.
- Nightlife: Dance till 5am at Club Brava!
- Relax! After all, it’s a vacation! — Open up to cultural differences and new experiences. Slow down. Relax. It will get done when it gets done. Leave all expectations at home. Just let it be.
Ohh, and let’s not forget the must have wardrobe essentials! Here are a few things that I’m taking with me on my trip.
If you are not already subscribed to Houston Tidbits, just know that you SHOULD BE! It’s a great site created by a group women working hard to bring you the best beauty and shopping deals around town as well as invites to all of Houston’s top events.
Recently, they hosted the first It Girls of Instagram event at Neiman Marcus in the Galleria. Six fashionistas were chosen as having the best Instagram feeds in Houston.
And the nominees were:
Tamar Mendelssohn, blogger, stylist at Tootsies and co-founder of A Couture Cause
“My fashion style is… denim deco.”
Taylor Crowley, stylist, makeup artist and singing reality show starlet
“My fashion style is… eclectic glam chic.”
Gretel Joffroy, artist
“My fashion style is… a little rock ‘n roll with a touch of glam.”
Kari Breitigam, fiber artist and jewelry designer
“My fashion style is… very minimal. I love classic vintage pieces and generally stick to a neutral palette.”
Saba Jawda & Sarah Jawda, interior designers
The sisters say their style is “timeless – we believe that a LBD can take you everywhere.”
Kristen Curette, photographer and graphic designer
“My fashion style is… edgy, chic and quirky.”
