Every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, Houston’s East End is filled with people walking up and down the Navigation Esplanade for its weekly street market. The East End Street Market blends food, shopping, and culture to create an experience that is rooted in one of Houston’s most historic communities. It was during one of those Sunday strolls that I came across Tierra de los Artesanos, a marketplace for the ethically savvy shopper.
Houston’s MKT Bar: Great Food, Drinks, and Vibes. It’s their old-school music,good-looking people, and fantastic food that keeps people coming back. When asked if I wanted to check out the new menu at MKT Bar in downtown Houston, I couldn’t say no. Not only because of my LOVE for food but also because MKT Bar is one of those places that brings me so much joy — MKT Bar is an #InnerLoopGem and single gal’s BEST FRIEND!
If you have been following The Loop Lyfe on social media then you know that I did not spend my NYE celebrations in Houston. Instead, I decided to travel to Seattle, Wa. Why? Well, it’s a 50/50 answer. 50% was because I fell in love with the city and the other 50% was for a guy that I met (more on that later).
Want a reason to workout? Well, I may have JUST the thing. Nothing puts a little extra pep in your step than looking good, right? Well, thanks to Derek Lam, we can now look good in and out of the gym.
Derek Lam 10 Crosby released its first limited edition collection with Athleta’s first limited edition. Each piece is uniquely designed with geometrical shapes and bold colors. The fabric is also super soft and lightweight which is perfect for any activity.
Check out some of my favorite pieces:
The collection is available online and in some select stores. Houstonians are lucky because the Athleta in Rice Village was chosen to carry the collection!
The store held a mini-fashion show to display the new collection. Models for the show ranged from yoga instructors to freelance magazine writers and bloggers! The showcase wasn’t all about fashion though, it was also a charity event benefiting Girls on the Run.
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that inspires middle school girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions.
Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible and teaching girls that they can.

Have you ever spent hours scouring the internet looking for the perfect place to host a party? There are so many options in Houston yet there’s also not enough or not quite what we’re looing for. Well, I’m happy to report that you don’t have to look any further than SHARESPACE, Houston’s perfect event space.
I was invited to speak about Fall Fashion trends for residents and local fashionistas at Uptown at Post Oak Luxury Apartments. I was excited to share all of my MUST HAVE looks for the cooler season.
I chose to showcase special one of a kind pieces from Azuz Boutique. If you have not been there, you are truly missing out. The boutique is in the heart of Rice Village. When I first reached out to Jacki (one of the owners) to see if she would be interested in participating in the panel, she was thrilled! We really hit it off great and she was more than happy to help me pick out some killer looks.
Jacki and Penny opened their store about a year ago and they pride themselves in having a large selection of unique and chic pieces from designers such as Tibi, AS by DF, Bec & Bridge, and much more.
For the panel, I decide to invite my good gal pals and fellow fashion experts Lisa from A Chic Effect and Jillian from Jillian’s Closet. I felt that both of these ladies brought a different perspective on fall trends. Our styles are so different, so it made for a great variation for our audience.
Overall, the event was great, we had food, drinks and well-dressed people to share it all with. Thanks so much for the great time and thanks to the ladies of Azuz for our looks of the night.
Also, a huge thanks to my photographer of the night, Jared from JAFusion
Hey there fellow Houstonians,
It’s that time for year again where fashionistas come out to play. Tonight will be the kick-off party for #FH5 at the fabulous JW Marriott Downtown! The party will start at 7pm and you can bet there will be plenty of drinks, food, dancing, and hot fashion. Come find me tonight and we’ll take a #selfie together. No better way of getting to know each other than by taking a #sellfie. See you tonight!

Diamonds and Desserts, what a wonderful combination right? You can bet I was excited when I first heard about this event! Last week I attended the 2nd annual Diamonds and Desserts Soiree at Robbins Brothers in the Galleria area. The event was hosted by Houston designer and Project Runway winner Chloe Dao.
I must say the first thing I thought of when walking inside the store filled with the best diamonds a girl could dream of, was that scene in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The entire night I kept saying to myself: “Ladies, Frost Yourselves!” LOL. And the ladies did, some of my fellow Houston Fashion Bloggers tried on diamond rings that would make any girl swoon.
Anyway, the room was filled with bloggers and style trend-setters ready to try on jewelry and see Chloe’s new bridal collection. The dresses were gorgeous! I fell in love with just about every dress. You can shop her collection here.
The event was more than jewels and yummy treats, it was also a way to promote Girls Inc., a charitable organization which equips young women with the skills and support for success. Their motto is: Be Strong, Be Smart, Be Bold!
In fact, one of the models in the fashion show was from Girls Inc., Rakiya McClure dazzled in a Chloe Dao cocktail dress. She also shared why she loves being a part of Girl’s Inc.
Ohh, and one more highlight of the night, I won a gorgeous diamond necklace! Thanks to Robbins Brothers for making a gal feel really special!
