I’m sure you have all heard of SoulCycle by now. It’s everywhere! Celebrities all around Hollywood swear by it……
Even First Lady Michelle Obama, talks about how she and her daughters Malia and Sasha do it as well.
So, why is it so popular? Well, it’s said to be a revolutionary way to workout. It’s a FULL body workout where you see the results almost instantly. By that I mean, you can pretty much see all of the pounds you lost by the massive pool of sweat at the end of the class! LOL.
Being that this form of exercise is so popular, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that SoulCycle with the help of Target would be making Houston a part of their 10 city-wide pop-up tour. And what I love most about this pop-up idea was that it not only involved staying fit and promoting a healthy lifestyle but also a little shopping!
Check out Target for their online boutique featuring exclusive Target x SoulCycle gear including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and tanks. Target hopes that this partnership will introduce wellness for its guests in Houston and across the country, making active living accessible, affordable and fun for everyone.
My First Time
My first SoulCycle class experience was INTENSE! I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed when I first got on my bike. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to keep up. Once the music came on though, I found myself in the zone. I was pedaling like I’ve never pedaled before. I could feel each drop of sweat falling from my face. I could feel every breath a took and every heartbeat. I was so “in the moment” that at one point in the class, I closed my eyes and just rode. I’m not going to lie to you guys, this class took a lot out of me but when I finished — it was the most incredible and accomplished feeling.
Should You Try It?
Of course! I would definitely recommend SoulCycle to everyone. I think the class is fun and upbeat and like I mentioned before — you can feel the pounds shedding off! I will suggest this, eat a small meal before your class (that way you avoid getting dizzy) and drink a lot of water before, during and after. And last but not least — go to your own pace. Don’t ever feel like you have to keep up. Do what you can and be happy with it!
SoulCycle opens their new Houston location in April on Kirby and Westheimer next door to Local Foods!
Peace and Love!
