You know what TRUE LOVE really is? For me, true love is being trapped in a group chat and LOVING IT! And there is no other group of women that I’d rather be in multiple group chats with than these three chicks below:
I’m sure you have all heard of SoulCycle by now. It’s everywhere! Celebrities all around Hollywood swear by it……
Even First Lady Michelle Obama, talks about how she and her daughters Malia and Sasha do it as well.
If you have been following The Loop Lyfe on social media then you know that I did not spend my NYE celebrations in Houston. Instead, I decided to travel to Seattle, Wa. Why? Well, it’s a 50/50 answer. 50% was because I fell in love with the city and the other 50% was for a guy that I met (more on that later).
If you’re reading this then you know that I am NOT one to blend in with a crowd! I always like to make a big splash wherever I go. And it’s no exception when I go to the gym either. So when my gal pal Patty from Style By Patty told me about these new bright & bold leggings from Personal & Co Activewear, I was ecstatic to partner up with them!
If you know me then you know that I rarely like to leave the Houston loop to attend an event. But when the opportunity presented itself to travel to Mexico for Fashion week….How could I say no? So, I quickly hoped on my United flight and was on my way to Mexico City and I could not be more excited! Especially because I was invited by designer Lydia Lavin and Malafacha to attend and cover their runway shows! Thanks again for the invite. Before we get into the fashion, I want to give a huge shout-out to the hotel staff at Presidente Intercontinental Mexico. They really went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was enjoyable. And what’s not to love at that hotel? Oh and the best part was that it was a 5 minute walk to Fashion Central! Check out some of the stunning hotel pictures:
It’s that time of year again…..Lafayette’s Latin Music Festival! This is one of those events that I travel every year outside of the loop for. No better way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month than this.
I used to host the event several years ago and it was the best time! Here are a couple of pictures:
The 2015 Latin Festival will feature the following:
Want a reason to workout? Well, I may have JUST the thing. Nothing puts a little extra pep in your step than looking good, right? Well, thanks to Derek Lam, we can now look good in and out of the gym.
Derek Lam 10 Crosby released its first limited edition collection with Athleta’s first limited edition. Each piece is uniquely designed with geometrical shapes and bold colors. The fabric is also super soft and lightweight which is perfect for any activity.
Check out some of my favorite pieces:
The collection is available online and in some select stores. Houstonians are lucky because the Athleta in Rice Village was chosen to carry the collection!
The store held a mini-fashion show to display the new collection. Models for the show ranged from yoga instructors to freelance magazine writers and bloggers! The showcase wasn’t all about fashion though, it was also a charity event benefiting Girls on the Run.
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that inspires middle school girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions.
Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible and teaching girls that they can.

Have you ever spent hours scouring the internet looking for the perfect place to host a party? There are so many options in Houston yet there’s also not enough or not quite what we’re looing for. Well, I’m happy to report that you don’t have to look any further than SHARESPACE, Houston’s perfect event space.
I was invited to speak about Fall Fashion trends for residents and local fashionistas at Uptown at Post Oak Luxury Apartments. I was excited to share all of my MUST HAVE looks for the cooler season.
I chose to showcase special one of a kind pieces from Azuz Boutique. If you have not been there, you are truly missing out. The boutique is in the heart of Rice Village. When I first reached out to Jacki (one of the owners) to see if she would be interested in participating in the panel, she was thrilled! We really hit it off great and she was more than happy to help me pick out some killer looks.
Jacki and Penny opened their store about a year ago and they pride themselves in having a large selection of unique and chic pieces from designers such as Tibi, AS by DF, Bec & Bridge, and much more.
For the panel, I decide to invite my good gal pals and fellow fashion experts Lisa from A Chic Effect and Jillian from Jillian’s Closet. I felt that both of these ladies brought a different perspective on fall trends. Our styles are so different, so it made for a great variation for our audience.
Overall, the event was great, we had food, drinks and well-dressed people to share it all with. Thanks so much for the great time and thanks to the ladies of Azuz for our looks of the night.
Also, a huge thanks to my photographer of the night, Jared from JAFusion
If you don’t know by now, Jentry Kelley is one of the most Down-to-Earth, Fabulous, Fierce, and Empowered woman in the make-up game! She was recently named Fashion Houston’s Beauty Director and is CEO of Jentry Kelley Cosmetics.
On November 2nd, Uptown Post Oak Luxury Apartments hosted a Sunday Makeup Funday class taught by no other than Jentry Kelley herself!
The event was as perfect as her beautifully “dolled up” face! She taught everyone in the room about how to properly match foundation, how to apply bronzer, and the do’s and don’ts of eye and lip application.
My favorite part of the class was learning about the ombre’ lip. Am I the only one that didn’t know that existed? I’m telling you, my life has changed knowing that you can have a different lip liner color than your lipstick. Obviously, you don’t want to get crazy with it! Make sure to pair colors that compliment each other, duh!
I also learned the importance of having well-trimmed and highlighted eyebrows. Jentry has this amazing eyebrow lift kit that will change your life.
What I truly enjoyed best about this make-up tutorial was how funny Jentry was. Her personality lit up the room and you could tell how passionate she was about her product. She made us all laugh and was not afraid to be honest about commonly made make-up faux paus.
Thanks Jentry for taking the time out to speak to us. I can’t wait to see what you do at Fashion Houston!
